Welcome to Washburn!

Welcome to our Community website.  Washburn is located in central North Dakota and built on the banks of the beautiful Missouri River. We offer something for everyone here in the Grandest Little City on the Missouri.  Washburn is a great place to visit, start a business, or relocate.  Washburn lies in the coal and wind energy corridor providing many opportunities for employment and recreation with the small town feel.

Washburn prides itself on being a very special place to live and do business.  It’s a community where people get involved and make good things happen. From the houses overlooking the Missouri River to the beautiful, historic homes in the city’s downtown along with the new housing development providing stunning properties to build you dream home.  Washburn is how life should be, rich in history, community and natural beauty.

Today, Washburn is a city of about 1300, residents enjoy many thriving businesses, churches and an excellent school system. The history of the west is right here in our backyard with Lewis and Clark, the lost art of ferry boat travel on the mighty Missouri, and the beautiful countryside including the unspoiled prairie, agricultural fields growing food for the nation or the majestic Missouri River.  View all of these while traveling the modern multi-use trail encompassing the City by either walking, jogging or biking. We invite families and people of all ages to enjoy all of this and more when you are in our community.

We hope this online site will give you an idea of the wonderful opportunities that are waiting for you in our city.
